Description in Details

This is a hands on role, working with tools and composites to create carbon fibre products at the highest standard, helping us maintain our world-class reputation for composite engineering. You will ultimately be working in the cleanroom assisting or leading product manufacturing which could include; tubes, custom fabrications, masts, telescopic poles, booms, UAV frames and supporting services.

You will need

To be self-motivated & able to work unsupervised or in a team environment.
Relevant experience in composites.
Can-do attitude.
Attention to detail.
High work ethic.

Duties

Interpreting drawings & designs.
Female & male moulding laminating using prepreg systems.
De-moulidng.
Bagging techniques for oven and autoclave cures.
Surface prep of tooling for fabrication.

Role Overview:

· Communicate with customers worldwide via e-mail and phone.
· Design sail battens and specify sail hardware.
· Produce manufacturing instructions and manage production flow.
· Develop new products and assist in growing sales.
· Collaborate with both our NZ and Spain factories. (Bonus if you live in Spain)
· Travel to tradeshows (e.g. METS) and visit sail lofts.

Responsibilities:

Build strong customer relationships.
Enter sales data into our ERP system.
Work closely with production to ensure smooth batten manufacturing.
Manage the entire batten sales process, from enquiry to dispatch, and design and specify sail battens and hardware to optimise performance.
Contribute to new product development by identifying opportunities and collaborating with our design team to create innovative solutions using the latest composite manufacturing and materials technology.

To be successful, you'll need:

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
Strong understanding of sailing, the marine industry, composites and/or sail systems.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook & Excel).
Tertiary qualification or relevant experience.
Attention to detail ensuring accuracy with item codes and technical specifications.

Technical Sales Engineer

About The Opportunity

As technical tube sales engineer you will be responsible for sales, project engineering, manufacturing/quality control and everything in between. You will be the face of the company handling customer enquiries, estimating, and quoting, liaising with customers. Every project is bespoke and you will be responsible for managing the end to end solution working alongside the sales team, logistics manager, accounts team and workshop staff helping us create carbon fibre products at the highest standard, whilst maintaining our world-class reputation for composite engineering.

Key Responsibilities

Providing engineering and technical support to clients and in- house production team.
Developing and maintaining a full understanding of the construction processes of composites.
Collaborating with clients on a variety of custom and production work along with developing strong relationships between clients and the sales team.

Experience & Skillset Requirements

Strong experience and sound understanding of composite engineering principals.
Proven capability working across a variety of projects.
Sound problem solving skills and eye for small detail.
Excellent interpersonal skills and desire to grow within the company.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment.

Ideally You Will Also Have

Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent engineering and composite experience.
2D Drafting/Design ideally AutoCAD/Solid Edge/Rhino.
Projecting engineering experience.
Confidence with numerical calculations e.g. detailed cost estimates and tube pricing.
