In a class where platforms are tightly controlled, performance is increasingly driven by setup precision, sail control, and repeatability. This is where C‑Tech’s CT22 battens and CTP components play a critical role, with teams relying on them to fine-tune sail shape and maintain stability across changing conditions.
On the water, Sled (USA) secured the overall win on 42 points after a consistent series, finishing ahead of Platoon Aviation (GER) and debut team No Way Back (NED). A key moment came before the final race, where a last-minute halyard issue required a mast climb to resolve — with Sled going on to finish third in the race and secure the regatta.
Racing throughout the week was defined by variable conditions, placing a premium on sail response and adaptability. Custom CT22 battens enable teams to control stiffness, leech profile, and recovery characteristics, allowing sails to hold their designed shape under load and perform across a wider wind range. In a fleet where margins are minimal, this level of control contributes directly to consistency over a series.
The opening event reinforced a clear trend within the TP52 class: gains are incremental, but decisive. With limited differences in core platform design, component-level optimisation — particularly within sail systems — continues to be a key performance differentiator.
With the season now underway, Sled leads the 2026 standings, but the depth of the fleet suggests another highly competitive series ahead — where execution, setup, and detail will define results.
