C-Tech have manufactured a number of large-diameter, telescopic carbon fibre tubes used as core structural elements within the antenna-mast systems. These masts are designed for deployment on mobile defence platforms, supporting the rapid elevation of antennas, radars, communications (CRRS), surveillance systems, and other tactical payloads.

Key Technical Requirements:

  • Non-tension telescopic design - The mast is engineered as a self-supporting, guyless structure, utilising composite sliding sections for high structural stability without external support cables.
  • Reinforced carbon fibre tube sections - Each section is constructed from precision-engineered carbon fibre, offering a superior stiffness-to-weight ratio, corrosion resistance, and vibration damping — critical for signal clarity and sensor accuracy under real-world conditions.
  • Modular multi-section architecture - The systems have included 6 to 8 retractable segments, designed with tight tolerances to allow smooth telescoping and locking while minimising mechanical play and ensuring payload alignment at full extension.
  • Vehicle chassis integration - The tubes were developed for vertical mounting to military vehicle bodies or chassis, forming part of deployable communication or     surveillance modules. Their lightweight structure enables fast, automated deployment and low-impact transport.

  • Environmental durability: Built to operate in temperature extremes, high vibration, dust/sand, and EM-sensitive environments.
  • Rapid deployment: Lightweight materials reduce system mass, allowing faster lift times and enhanced vehicle mobility.
  • Payload stability: High stiffness ensures minimal deflection under wind load or mechanical movement, supporting radar and comms signal integrity.
