Challenge 01

Weight and Flight Time

Keeping weight to an absolute minimum was a high priority to increase all important flight time. In an industry where seconds can capture that all important shot.

Solution

Rectangular motor arms were therefore chosen by C-Tech to maximise stiffness gains in multiple orientations whilst also optimising strength to weight ratios.

Challenge 02

Design Tolerances

The accuracy of the drone motor axis relied upon very square outer tube faces resulting in strict design tolerances for the outside face of the square tubes.

Solution

This is something mandrel wrapped carbon tubes are not well known for. However through developing internal processes C-Tech achieved and excelled at meeting these strict tolerances.
