Challenge 01

High Temperature and Abrasion Resistance

Petromac required a non-metal guide component that could retain structural integrity and low friction coefficient under high temperatures pressures and abrasion through underground wells.

Solution

C-Tech worked with Petromac on R and D of specialised high temperature prepreg materials. The solution has been integrated and bonded with high temperature epoxy glue.

Challenge 02

Composite Spring

Springs subjected to extreme deflection under high loads were yielding before reaching maximum deflection causing system failure.

Solution

C-Tech designed composite springs using carbon fibre stiffness and S-Glass elongation integrated with high temperature resin systems. Maximum depth capability 9.7km with 92 percent successful descents and 180 degree maximum wellbore temperature.
